Note From Our Founder
My journey into fashion began at a young age, driven by a deep passion for design. After moving to the US in 2003, I refined my skills at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Upon returning to India in 2014, I started freelancing from home, creating ethnic clothing. However, the lack of structure in my business led to excessive fabric waste, which conflicted with my values of sustainability.
The turning point came when I realized I could merge my love for fashion with my commitment to sustainable living. I began exploring biodegradable fabrics like hemp and rainfed cotton and transitioned to natural dyes made from plant-based materials. This shift aligned my work with my environmental values, transforming my approach to fashion design.
During the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020 I deepened my knowledge through online courses and workshops. Sustainable fashion is still an evolving field, and I believe in learning through experimentation and sharing those insights.
My mission is to create fashion that harmonizes with nature, fostering growth alongside it rather than at its expense. This philosophy led to the creation of Tinctoria. I invite you to join us on this journey by exploring our beautifully crafted, eco-friendly collections for every occasion.
